This illustration, reinterpreting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, utilises layered grain brushes in homage to Seurat's pointillism technique. It depicts the artist's hometown on a Friday afternoon—students winding down for the week, locals going on a walk or bike trip, and people hanging out by the river. In the foreground is the iconic 40 ft. statue of Marikit-Na ("beautiful woman"), the female subject of a folk tale that is the basis of the city’s name. Where peace and melancholy meet; this artwork is a love letter to the artist's sweet hometown.
