Inspired by René Magritte’s Golconda, Buoyant Bedok Uncles propels Singapore's beloved and emblematic uncles into the sky. Usually spotted at hawker centres or void decks, they while away their time chatting with fellow elderly men or flirting with Tiger Beer aunties. Floating amidst HDB blocks, these uncles are undeniably in their element.

Artist Bio:
Ashley Seow is a self-taught stick-and-poke tattoo artist and illustrator from Singapore, currently based in London. Her work explores themes of existentialism and nostalgia. She often contemplates the subjects that plague our subconscious; examining the relationships between the inner self and the world it navigates. Drawing inspiration from the surrealist movement and constantly perplexed by the absurdity of life, her anthropomorphic characters join her in their interrogation of the realms they're thrown into.
Artist Country:
Singapore
