Halik by Koalanov

This artwork reimagines the central couple in Gustav Klimt's The Kiss as enduring icons of Filipino pop culture. Presented as a still frame from a Videoke lyric video, it features Nora Aunor and Tirso Cruz III—an iconic "love team" from 1970s Philippine cinema—overlaid with lyrics from Filipino rock band Aegis' famed anthem titled Halik ("Kiss" in Filipino).

Artist Bio:

Ivee Pendo (Koalanov) is an illustrator based in Manila, Philippines. Her work features a vibrant echo of mundane life, charged by her love of colours and expressions of her quiet contemplations. When not illustrating, she spends her time spoiling her two cats, pursuing her budding fascination for house plants, or fiddling with her film camera.
