This artwork is inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat's Untitled from the Neo-Expressionist movement. The colours and freedom of paint strokes in Basquiat's piece have inspired Nadia to continue boldy exploring and experimenting. She created this self-portrait artwork to represent her identity as a Chinese-Indonesian, depicting Indonesian batik designs that she admires, along with the Jasminum Sambac (one of the national flowers of Indonesia) and finally some Lunar New Year accessories that she often played with as a child.
